Summary

Beili Neuadd, a stone built farmhouse, parts of which date back as far as the 16th century is a working small holding situated in a beautiful secluded position in Mid Wales with delightful views of the surrounding countryside, now a delightful 4 Star B&B

Description

All of our well appointed double bedrooms are simply decorated. Individual touches reflect Alison’s love of textiles whether it be an individually upholstered chair, or the cosiness of an old Welsh blanket from which the colour scheme of the room has been selected. Quirky touches from the hand knitted tea cosies to the beautiful cushions fashioned from the natural wool colours from our own small flock of Shetland sheep add to each room’s individuality. (Pictures of bedrooms)
Each bedroom has its own mini fridge where you will find a bottle of chilled water from our own spring as well as fresh milk for that ever important tea or coffee. You will also find a slice of tempting home made cake or chocolate brownie to fill the gap between lunch and dinner. Each bedroom includes a private or en-suite bathroom, hairdryer and clock radio.
A choice of cereals, Greek yogurt and fresh fruit is followed by a hearty Aga cooked breakfast which includes sausages and bacon from our own home-grown rare-breed pigs and eggs from our free range hens. It also features scrumptious Stornoway black pudding which many non black pudding fans have fallen in love with!! Vegetarian breakfasts are of course also available and we also cater for Gluten free and other special diets. Please let us know in advance.
All of our preserves and marmalades are home made, often using fruit from our ever expanding fruit and vegetable plot.

Breakfast is served in the light and airy conservatory overlooking the garden where a plethora of birdlife exists. You may well see a greater spotted woodpecker or a nuthatch on the peanuts, goldfinches and linnets at the thistle seed along with a perpetual stream of blue tits, sparrows etc. We have identified 40 species of bird in the first year of being here. Guests are able to sit round our large table and enjoy the company of others in a sociable relaxed atmosphere. ( Picture of conservatory)
Good simple food is a passion which we like to share so why not order an arrival night meal. Two courses of quality home-cooked food using as much as possible of our own lamb, pork and own grown produce for only £15 per head. We are un-licensed so please bring with you whatever you would like to drink with your meal.

If you prefer to eat out there is a choice of several pubs and inns within Rhayader and the surrounding area.

The guest lounge has many books, maps and magazines, also a piano which you are welcome to play, and a television.
The gardens are enchanting with a pool and bog garden. Our stream, a tributary of the River Wye, flows through a wooded area, which is a delight to walk in. Or just sit quietly at one of the many benches or tables and listen to the bird sounds and enjoy the peace and tranquility.
